ABOUT STEFAN

Creating with HEART, SOUL & PASSION.
Trying to do Good daily.
STEFAN SCHULTZE, Dipl. DESIGNER (FH), Berlin

Stefan Schultze, a Designer from northern hemisphere

More than 25 years awardwinning experience: Stefan is an internationally published designer. He worked already within studies projects and as employee of several companies and advertising agencies in different positions up to Art Director.

I design from the very first sketch to that printready book, music or movie artwork, that fair display or even film that clip raising attention for foodie experiences, sports events or B2B to Good causes. I love startups and helping them to get visually onto their next level. In my free time I do support Good causes and new artists. Little Stefan back in school was six years part of the school paper and two years part of the schoolradio.

Also mini mini Stefan was during his first schoolyears also an attraction at dog exhibitions when he would go in circles alongside other dog owners kids′ with a dog that had his back then shoulderheight (honestly that dog was patient and was rather walking me) - I also won my first drawing awards drawing ... dogs at such exhibitions. So if you see some more animals here around, it′s because I grew up this way ... and 🎵 walked this way 🎵 :) And hey, maybe you support an animal shelter near you today?

Some milestones

Some Companies and Projects I have worked for ... Universal Music, Nordcapital, BR - Bayerischer Rundfunk, Bayerisches Fernsehen, Bundesliga, DFL, DOSB Deutscher Olympischer Sportbund, Dirk Nowitzki Foundation Stiftung, GRUNDIG, Sat.1, FC Bayern, Telepool, ZDF, Star Clippers, Oeffentliche Bibliotheken, AGFA, Kinowelt, City of Potsdam, JOHN DEERE, Bundesliga, DFL Stiftung, FONDACION CHANEL, Freemantle Media, Sportainment AG, Andre Rieu Studios, Siemens Stiftung, Robert Bosch Stiftung, Aurides Stiftung, DFL Stiftung, Les Ballets de Montecarlo, SIEMENS STIFTUNG, IFM Immobilien, ...

• designed the DVD Artworks for the worlds BIGGEST TALLSHIP cruiseship, the ROYAL CLIPPER.

• designed and illustrated that publication for CHANEL′s Fondaçion CHANEL on women making a new start after going through hell.

• layouted and designed publications in partnership with orgas like Dirk Nowitzki foundation, German Olympic Sports Union (DOSB Deutscher Olympischer Sportbund), Sir Peter Ustinov Foundation, DFL Deutsche Fussball Liga, Bundesliga.

• I was also part of the team that marketed successful a stylish state of the art architecture property in Frankfurt Eschborn (back then for IFM Immobilien, designing fact sheets, brochures and landing pages) to become the new headquarters of the Bundesliga / DFL German Football League. So I "met" them literally three times during my career in 3 different categories: DVD artworks, property marketing & architecture and later for publications (the one with CHANEL′s Fondaçion CHANEL) and the one on Inclusion and the very first INCLUSION SUMMIT in Berlin (also designed the looks for this one) within their social engagement.

• designed the artworks for a CHAMPIONSHIP DVD for Germany′s most successful Soccerclub FC BAYERN when they won a year′s championship again (among more than 600 other DVD and CD artworks).

• supported JOHN DEERE′s Day of caring - you find a sticker made by me on TENS OF THOUSANDS of food donation bags ech year for FOODBANK TAFEL from Germany (2017-2025). Because I think success is also about sharing. And I love to support projects and companies - and artists - who care.

• also designed AND illustrated Germany′s most well known book about charitable impact (150.000 copies plus, promomaterials from Rollups to Webbanners as of 2025). The book is meanwhile available in 6 editions, 4 languages and brought positive feedback even from beloved childhood hero orgas like Naturkundemuseum Berlin, Heinz Sielmann foundation (the "Sir David Attenborough of Germany" back then) and Biene Maja foundation a.m.m. many years after its initial release.

• I won awards in more than five different categories. I create from the VERY first sketch humanpowered to the outstanding printready book that anyone talks about and gets you new partners, the postable video, that illustration or infographic.

• was in the team that promoted the worlds VERY FIRST poison free SOLAR CELLS - back then all new superthin and more efficient technology. And the first solar panels, which truly looked elegant. The product won the red dot design award. A first for Solar too.

•  created videos with all together more than 1,5 MILLION VIEWS on youtube only.

I bring YOUR looks and publications to the NEXT LEVEL. All in one person. I love my job and I create wealth for your company. → Let′s talk.

SOME MORE CASES

Architecture makeover: 22+ meter tall pure concrete grey staircase towers of a 100+ meters long appartment building "Nordscheibe Dessau"

Architecture makeover, facade design, architecture mural, fassadenneugestaltung, fassadenmodernisierung, fassadenstil, fassadenfarbe, designer Stefan Schultze from Berlin

Quick new look: This one was not an award but an internal competition during my studies that I won. After that a council of the city of Dessau also voted and gave their go too (thank you :) ).

A more than 100m long living building complex at the heart of the BAUHAUS town Dessau. I was studying back then on all available disciplines, so I engaged besides drawing and photography, some product design projects and print projects in interactive projects as well as some refreshing architecture makeovers alike. I love interdisciplinary work.

Back in 1999 the grey towers looked terrible. The company asked the university for a solution and some of us students went to work, scribbling, creating models and making proposals. I went from historical scenes murals finally to some art nouveau shapes interpreting the color scheme and giving the building kinda easy fashion suit closing the visual gap.

At the beginning - just the outlines         model for one of the designs - this one became the blueprint for two of the three towers while a second dsign became the one for tower no. 1. The designs featured only 2 colors to be used by the craftsmen so the company would save costs for the facade makeover.

Some buildings just need some functional and / or technical updates (think solar, creating shade through microclimate like rooftopgardens, greened roofs etc. and air conditioning, both a huge market esp. with changing weather patterns now in 2026), some insulation or the long missing balconies with some cosmetic elements.

The original architects of the property designed the facade including its given colorscheme - except the grey 22+ meters tall staircase towers. Maybe they liked the pure concrete in the 1960s when the Building was all new and the towers probably bright grey (remember in the eastern modular buildings alike often just got errected from pure concrete modules, often with a few tiles or little stones embedded in it. Stable, effective but superugly and also badly insulated. There is a cool example in Magdeburg and in Vienna, what the substance could be turned into with their famous Hundertwasser houses - I visited both later after my studies. But most buildings even today just have boring nonfunctional fassades.

The internal competition in the study course was about one tower. In the end I won and they took two of my facade designs to cover all three towers of the 100+ meters long building of my designs. Some skilled craftsmen put the designs into reality on the real facade.

A slight facade makeover can change the world for the folks living there. Anytime I drive through areas with boring monocolor facades I think about that :)

DVD artworks for BEST OF ANDRÉ RIEU LIVE & his phantastic orchestra at the ROYAL ALBERT HALL in London and the WALDBÜHNE Berlin

ANDRÉ RIEU live BEST OF DVD cover artworks by Stefan Schultze, Orchestra, classical music DVD, andre rieu, performer, cover, artworks, cover designer

André Rieu and friends are still touring filling massive venues often with multiple concerts. As of 2025 he has some 4 MILLION followers on insta and some 6 MILLION on youtube. 2 decades ago when I created the artworks he was already huge. NOW he and his team are LEGENDS.

DVD cover artwork for the "BEST OF LIVE" DVD by me. Years later they reused it even for a upgraded two DVD edition again. At my start in the company I would care for his other already extisting DVD printartworks and adopt minor changes to them over the years. And finally years later I got the task to create "my own" with this BEST OF live edition with music performed here in Berlin at the beloved Waldbühne and the iconic ROYAL ALBERT HALL.

DVD Artworks for AMBRA part III "Prism of life" high end DVD demonstration discs for audiophiles, HIFI manufacturers & POS displays for the series

astro, stargazer, stargazers, inspiration, jupiter, planet jupiter, Berlin, Sternengucker, sterngucker

Artworks for DVDs of AMBRA part III "Prism Of Life". Part of the project have been the amazing AVENUE STUDIOS, well known for their works for the likes of Suzie Quatro, Alan Parsons Project, Boy George, Michelle, Lou Bega, Shari Belafonte, Bro′Sis, a.m.m. You might also know their cinematic works for Disney or the "Pippi Langstrumpf" movie, Adidas and Audi (I bet you smile reading this :)). So this was not just some producers′ demo DVD, it was audio masterminds rethinking how you can present the capabilities of the time′s high end audio systems to a potential customer. And AMBRA′s customers loved the DVDs for just that. In other words: If you want to sell a Ferrari, delivering a pizza trough a rush hour in the car might be entertaining but not the best way to present all of it′s capabilities. Also you might not reach all of your target group through standard content. It takes quality content. Pro′s who have been musicians themselfes AND worked with the icons of their time are truly able to show, what your headphone or super audio system is truly capable of.

Now that was a surprise when I got this a few days ago decades after I made the designs for this one combining a 3D model of the prism with real footage. When I started at that company, AMBRA 1 was already released and a huge success as a high-end high fidelity demonstration DVD for audiophiles, HIFI manufacturers like musicgear and speaker companies by the likes of Quadral and Denon. Huge electronic shops would use the DVD for their music areas. So the AMBRA-signet was there and visuals from Part 1 (a diamond shape), Part II (kinda astronomical Nebula with images). Getting the task to design part III for a product at the top of its category was a honour. I decided for a pyramid prisma so all three boxes would still look cool in a row. AMBRA III got released on UNIVERSAL MUSIC.

backside details of the DVD packaging including Avenue Studios and Universal

Besides this artwork I cared of cause for the production of the print part, as always for the CD- and DVD-labels and also designed several large POS displays for the shops. Below is one of these. It features the first AMBRA 1 with that diamond shape. This Ambra 1 with the diamondshape on the cover was already a hit across the genre when I started at the company in the early 2.000s. Back then I came from my studies, had my 1st professional awards in Facade design, billboard design and postcard design and made a few tv series DVD artworks. Letting me touch AMBRA 1 for POS displays while we had 4 more designers was a a honour. Soon I also cared for all of the DVD′s print parts and packaging production, a catalogue spanning more than 600 DVDs when I arrived and more than 600 artworks created by my own when I left the company at the end of the DVD era in the late 2.000s when upcoming DVD- and CD-Burners would destroy the markets profit margins for sustainable DVD production. Interestingly a lot has changed for the better since then and

people again value more to have a physical product (think vinyl covers) in their hand. Something to not just be hopeful but excited about :)

Surprise 2026: When I checked on the series, two beautiful things appeared:
  • a)  the 20 years old AMBRA DVD series still has a good price at the market, Ambra 1 at 89 EUROS, Ambra III at 29 EUROS. Actually crazy given the actual trends for spatial audio and Dolby Atmos mixes. Quality content.

  • b)  I just found they used my design almost a decade later again for a renewed 4K Dolby Atmos (!) version with Onkyo on its sleeve. Since I hear again and again how much some of you love Dolby Atmos, it makes me happy this thing gets new life :)
Kinda proud and yet another example for design cutting its path and leaving a footprint throughout the decades. Like the books I¨ve layouted, illustrated and designed or several other DVD artworks. :)

btw. you´re looking at a 20 years old box photographed in June 2026 in surprisingly good shape, that I ordered 2nd hand since I didn′t had my sample DVD from back then anymore. For Audiophiles and musiclovers: Oli Hellwig the CEO of absolutrecords from that DVD was also the discoverer of Scooter the DJ singer ("hyper hyper") and the band Camouflage ("Love is a shield"). Rest in peace old music soul. So yes, I also got a bit emotional yesterday, when I held the DVDs after decades in my hands. Oli was one of the coolest bosses I had - and some of my passion for new talents goes back to these days: True passion for music, relaxed soul, hands on solutionoriented mindset. ... welcome to my page. :)

This collectors box became an instant hit: DVD artworks for "EDEL UND STARCK" Sat.1 TV series (plus collectorsbox-editions for a few more series of the TV station)

DVD Artworks for DVDs and Collectors Box editions of the beloved TV Series EDEL UND STARCK of TV station Sat.1

The collectors Box for the beloved Sat.1 TV series "EDEL UND STARCK" became an instant hit with several tenthousands of the first editions sold out within the shortest of time.

It got released at UNIVERSAL. Back then I made the artworks for the very first Sat.1 DVDs. They had a corporate guide that didn′t worked for DVD sleeves so I would adopt their guidelines to our production processes and needs and in the end both sides had useable creations for daily biz. Working with the partners at Sat.1 was smooth and awsome. I was actually very happy that they changed their looks from like green rays for "Der Bulle von Toels" (means "The Cop of Bad Toelz" , a beloved TV series playing in the county of Bavaria) a few years later to that colorscheme look you see here in these collector boxes: It worked much much better than the initial design.

My part:

  • artworks for the episode boxes
  • artworks and booklet for the collectors Boxes
  • DVD labels
  • Salesfolder
  • and I also wrote the storyboards for the TV-spots incl. the one for this collectors box. I had developed a serial scheme across the TV series of the TV station to be used and adopted for any of the upcoming DVD series TV spots - it worked quite nice
  • plus I created the 3D packshot animations (I don′t create 3D animations anymore) for the TV spots. Back then it would take days to render the few seconds in TV resolution.
  • concepted, designed and animated the 3D SERIAL HIGHLIGHTS Signet for the Sat.1 TV spots (might add that later to the Logo page here on my website)

Back then I even made a 3D VR movie from the "EDEL & STARCK" collectors box so you could turn it around virtually before actually buying it (Sadly modern browsers don′t seem to support this fileformat anymore).

The DVD series became a massive success. I also designed several collectors boxes for some more meanwhile existing single-episodes-DVDs of the TV station and made TV Spot animations for them as well as wrote the storyboards for those TV spots too:

  • "Der Bulle von Tölz" (all initial DVD designs and the two collectors-boxes which also became a success)
  • The beloved series "HELICOPS" and "SK KOELSCH" had been adopted as single episode DVDs with one to two episodes on a disc by a collegue. I later adopted these also into the successful COLLECTORS BOX design. (we learned from the success of "EDEL & STARCK" and "DER BULLE VON TÖLZ" that for this genre it was much better to sell them immideately in a collectors box instead of the until then common single DVD releases - a thing that is today common sense but was not in the early 2000s). While we where experimenting with the formats, DVDs would later always be released as collectors boxes, often with some effect printing

Ownership for customers hits different when you don′t just stream something and then it′s gone. Some products may inspire much longer, if you provide a nice physical edition. Just like books, CDs, VINYLs or that cup from your travel destination.

I′m also the Designer and illustrator of "KURSBUCH WIRKUNG" / "SOCIAL IMPACT NAVIGATOR",
a free fully illustrated 135+ pages manual and guidebook for charitable work;

... Meanwhile there are more than 150.000 copies (as of 2025) both printed and digtal as interactive PDF eBooks out there. There are 5 language and country editions (trandslated by native speakers) besides the german original available. The project created dozens of jobs due its success and huge demand over more than a decade. Demand for more language versions from its readers brought new partners too. There are versions ...

for Switzerland (together with University Basel & CEPS Center for Philantrophy studies)

in english language (with the Worldbank)

a version for Canada (with Canadahelps)

in italian language

in spanish language (the only one without my original design).

... with more language versions to come, stay tuned

Funfact: We printed - environmentally friendly - already the 5th edition of the german one! Back then the printing house was also Germanys FIRST one to be certified with the Blue Angel Signet ("Blauer Engel" - and the CO2 from production got offset with eco projects, the used paper was a recycled paper)

... The book itself was actually the very first manual of its kind in Germany; full of KNOW HOW for those who DO GOOD with purpose & especially those who want to have MORE impact & BETTER RESULTS with their charitable work no matter if your charity / NGO / NPO works in sports, education, food, inclusion, climate related topics (...) or even music. And YES, its totally free thanx to donors - no registration necessary, just search it, download it, start doing good EVEN better :)

The english editon got introduced at a summit in Washington to 300 orgas in the room providing a cool start for this language version. The Worldbank had sponsored the event and printed a small edition of the all new english version and the company provided an interactive PDF created by yours truly.

VIDEO - here is a video I once made when the 3rd out of 6 printed german editions went into production. (external site) I cared for them from the very first sketch to the final printed professional book. The first 5 editions got printed on this beautiful Heidelberg printing machine. Sadly the printing company does not exist anymore in this form and the machine is gone. It was amazing, from workshops on a linotype when I was a young designer finally seeing a 130-pages book back then coming to printed life on a high quality printing machine of a legendary company - in the VERY first printing company in Germany that got certified "Blauer Engel" / "Blue Angel" for truly clean printing. NOONE did that before them in the country. And the book was one of the first fully clean produced ones - also on double certified recycling paper. The book is also always available as eBook in PDF format. Sponsors for printing an edition on recycling paper are always welcome.

The "Kursbuch Wirkung" book is NOW ALSO AVAILABLE as free "SOCIAL IMPACT NAVIGATOR" guidebook in english language

SOCIAL IMPACT NAVIGATOR - the practical guide for organizations targeting better results". The downloads for the eBook PDFs are free thanks to donors. There is also a spanish edition
(that one doesn´t have my design but the same brilliant helpful content). It′s filled with tons of KNOW HOW, step by step explanations, checklists, and practical examples - all designed in an entertaining, refreshing yet comfy to read didactic way. We received very positive feedback for the german edition (even more than a decade after the release of the first edition people still reacting to it) not only from the targeted small and midsize organizations but also from very big NGOs who started to implement the guide book into their daily actions.

I did the design concept for the book and eBook, designed, layouted & illustrated it - my collegues did the brainwork / writing :). Ah yes, and the german subtitle "Das Praxishandbuch für alle die Gutes noch besser tun wollen" got also written by me. Means as much as "For all the ones doing Good already and wanting to do good even better". Authors of the book: Bettina Kurz. Coauthor: Doreen Kubek. English translation by Barbara Serfoso (so you have a human translation and really good readability for native speakers; Barbara understood the topic and even performed in front of the cam for a video series on the book)

Reporting on the good impact of social projects BUT easier and a bit standardized: the free SRS "Social Reporting Standard"

Social Reporting Standard publication - a guidebook on how to report about your charitable work in a standardized way - so you won′t start each year with your annual report all over again. Back then they even had a contest on which NGO had produced the most beautiful reports using the template know how of this free guidebook. Funfact: I had to use standard free fronts such as Verdana, so zero zero costs on material, just my time to create a bit of an update

Some years ago I redesigned lowbudget at zero volume for fonts and imagery the new edition of the "Social Reporting Standard" (SRS) and gave it a complete fresh artwork redesign. Meanwhile it had even more language versions than the SOCIAL IMPACT NAVIGATOR guidebook. Partners like University of Hamburg, and even the Techical University Munich supported the SRS. It′s your guide to more transparency for potential donors while also reflecting your charitable work based on impact. And - like "Kursbuch Wirkung" / Social Impact Navigator- its totally FREE (thanks to donors b.t.w.!).

JUST KEEP IN MIND the more transparent and impact oriented you set up your work, the more attractive you become to donors who just don´t want only nice pics for the press and an annual report but also seeing their supported Good causes achieve real positive change and impact in the field they engage for. Many of you work already powerful and successful.

A transparent report on your impact and results will help to make your strengths visible - and recognizeable.

Why not planting trees at zero costs for you while you′re searching the web? THIS search engine plants trees. MILLIONS: ECOSIA

Sounds cool and it is. You probably noticed I often use ECOSIA search links in stead of direct download links. I like that search engine for planting millions of trees with their revenues while others are still talking bubbles.

🌱  ECOSIA

Because they engage in restoring habitats in Madagascar, Brasil, Tansania, help saving orang utan habitats in Borneo, help farmers in Spain in Europe and SOOOO much more like helping to create the GREAT GREEN WALL in Africa - a largescale reforestation project to STOP desertification. Some call it a NEW WORLDWONDER, amazing. Your search helps planting trees there, just by your curiosity ;)

🌱  watch this short from their 50 MILLION TREES milestone

and tell others about it. POSITIVE NEWS will also help you get your peace of mind back - and maybe you support this Good cause just like I do - by putting a link on your website and telling others about it.

Smile. Breathe. Support. Repeat. :)

🌱 short video about ECOSIA

or search for 🌱 GREAT GREEN WALL Africa project, it′s cool - and it started already to become REALITY. ECOSIA alone funded until today, April 2026 on EARTH DAY, planting for

more than already TWOHUNDRED (200) MILLION TREES.

They also care for the growth of these trees and also techniques to bring back woods from still existing root systems. I like that more than just bringing out seeds without caring for the few trees from that later. There are many more initiatives helping built this and get climate stability back to these regions. Be part of it, its easy, just use this green search engine here and there. I do. :)

And if you like, share my vision:

For me its just "the first great green wall across Africa", hoping I see some more new fresh green belts during my lifetime across Africa recreating sustainable vegentation and a better climate. And if people talk about terraforming and future space travel - bring them back to the here and now on this "little blue marble" just as (Carl Sagan once said): point them to this project, just because - yes - its also terraforming. Here. And now. For us AND for future generations. And hey, its easier than talkin´ ;)
